dmu pic Saturday 7th June; DMU Running Day

"The first DMU event of the year "

Come along for our special enthusiasts day on Saturday 7th June 2008.

Class 108, Class 117 and Class 115 units will all be running, some in 4 car formation.

Tail loads will be attached on some workings.

**Selected trains running on the new extension to Gladstone Bridge Halt.**

Tickets available from Barry Island station booking office on the day. First train departs (Barry Island) at 1041hrs, last train at 1700hrs.

Adult return - £3 Adult all-day rover - £8
Child/Sen return - £2 Child/Sen all-day rover - £5

A 2 - day rover will be made available covering the DMU Day and the Transport Fesitval.

£2 off adult fare £1 off Ch/Sen fare on production of Sat (DMU Day) rover ticket.

Buses, cars, motorcycles etc with FREE classic bus rides around the local area.

1000hrs until 1700hrs.

Diesel & Steam hauled trains will be in operation on an intensive service linking Barry Island , Hood road and Woodham Halt. A late fitness test saw Pamela pass her steam test on Friday and she is now rostered for duty on Sunday.

The "Barry Eight" collection of steam locomotives open to the public at the former Barry Steam Shed (88C).

RCH	Steam Flames	4.5	Golden beer with Brambling Cross and Northdown Hops giving a citrus blackcurrant flavour.
Bazens	Pacific Bitter	3.8	Gold coloured bitter with fruity nose – Hops & citrus fruit dominate taste with a bitter hoppy finish.
Summerskills	IKB 1859	4.7	Mid brown in colour with a hint of rum in the aftertaste. Full malt flavour and hoppy.
Station House	Lady o’the Steam	3.9	Golden coloured bitter – Fruit dominating the aroma leading to a strong bitter taste and lip-puckering aftertaste.
Shardlow	Whistlestop	5.0	Maris Otter Pale Malt and 2 Hops leading to this smooth and surprisingly strong pale beer.
Wickwar	Station Porter	6.1	Rich smooth dark ruby ale – Starts with roast malt-coffee-chocolate and dark fruit leading to spicy bitter-sweet long roast finish.

The "equally important" Ciders list

The ciders are;

Heartbreaker - which is dry and approx. 7.8% which won the Bath & West show this year.

Blaengawney - which is med and 7.2% and won bronze at Camra nationals this year.
